Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of superficial orthovoltage medical x-ray systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research. Xstrahl has manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA, operating globally through it's international network of distributors.We are seeking an Installation and Service Engineer to join our Xstrahl team remotely. We are looking for an organized and technically strong individual who will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance and breakdown/corrective maintenance for Xstrahl therapy and life science systems. The individual will work from home but will also be required to be in Brownhills at times and will provide the interface between the customer and Xstrahl. The engineer must represent the values of Xstrahl LTD, at all times, acting within the requirements of the company's quality management system. Responsibilities include:Provide prompt and professional engineering support to Xstrahl therapy and research cabinets systems worldwideTo carry out installations including handover & acceptance testing Fault diagnosis and defect rectification Complete CFR?S and customer tickets in line with company procedure Assist with Production/in-house work where assistance is requiredMaintain full and accurate records of all work carried out, in accordance with company procedures to provide feedback to product development and design departments in order to continuously improve quality & reliability of existing equipment Installations completed on schedule and within budget, and all documentation signed off & submitted to service admin Maintain uptime of in- service equipment Communicate customer feedback, contribute to and drive solutions in line with the company CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) Process and Zero Defects policy Carry out maintenance and system breakdowns on medical and life science systems completing reports on time in accordance with company procedures Complete and make all travel arrangements in line with the companies? expenses policy/handbook and complete credit card statements and personal expenses to given deadlinesRequired Skills and Abilities:Must be able to communicate clearly and confidently, technical aspects of their work to physicists, scientists and medical specialists. This will naturally require good verbal and written communication that is both clear and accurate Minimum of HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Good level of IT skills, with experience of working with proprietary software as well as Windows OS and Office applications Proven experience in a service environment Must be self-motivated, able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team Excellent presentation skills due to the nature of working on customer sites as the face of XstrahlClean driver's license Knowledge and Experience:Minimum of 2 years of Field service experience Electrical and electronic diagnostic skills down to component level Mechanical assembly experienceExperience installing software and installing/commissioning complex electro-mechanical systemsThis job description is intended to reflect an outline of the key tasks and responsibilities.
